Keynote Speaker

Shaesta Waiz successfully accomplished her mission to fly solo around the world to encourage children to pursue STEM and aviation education. Shaesta holds a commercial pilot license and is the first certified civilian female pilot from Afghanistan.

Advisory Board

The STEMCON Organizing Committee consults with 13 STEM education leaders on important matters and improvements in STEM education for our STEMCON event.

Shaesta Waiz

Founder and Pilot Dreams Soar,Inc.

Shaesta is the first Female civilian Afghan-American pilot and the youngest female pilot to fly solo around the world in a single-engine aircraft. Waiz flew over a total  24,800 nautical miles and 176 flight hours. She inspired over
3,000 children and young adults on her global flight, hosting 32 Outreach
events in 14 of those countries.

The purpose of the global flight was to inspire the next
generation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and
Aviation professionals, particularly young girls, which is the mission of
Dreams Soar.
